A volcano in one of the most remote places in Mendoza, more than 80 km from any civilization and guarded by Laguna del Diamante. The summit sits in its large dormant crater.

Overview

360 Explora offers you a different experience in one of the most remote places in the province of Mendoza.

The ascent of Volcán Maipo is an adventure in the heart of the Andes that few people dare to take on. More than 80 km from any civilization, in a wild setting watched over by the beautiful Laguna del Diamante, we will attempt to reach the summit located in this volcano's large dormant crater.

Its crater is covered in ice and snow all year round, and the climb will require us to cover kilometers of varied terrain shaped by the eruptions of long ago. All of this with the challenges of moving at altitudes above 4,000 m a.s.l.

Who is it for?

This volcano is ideal for those who already have experience on mountains above 4,000 m a.s.l. or who want to discover terrain totally different from the classic objectives. High-mountain experience, good physical condition and plenty of motivation are required.
