Itinerary

  1. 1Day 1: Mendoza – Veguitas Camp 3,200 m a.s.l.

We meet our guide at the agreed time and drive to Vallecitos. On arrival we pack our backpacks and hike to Veguitas camp, where we pitch our tents. It is a 2-hour trek, not very demanding, but we will be carrying backpacks of about 15 kg.

  2. 2Day 2: Acclimatization Trek

After breakfast we get ready for a trek to the area called El Infiernillo, aiming to reach 4,000 meters of altitude. The goal of this day is to improve our adaptation to the lack of oxygen and discover the beautiful glacial valley that will surround us throughout the expedition. 3-hour trek.

  3. 3Day 3: Las Veguitas – Summit – Camp – Mendoza

Very early in the morning we start the ascent of Cerro Franke. A long, exhausting day as we try to reach the summit of this emblematic peak of the Cordón del Plata, with great views from the top. We descend in the afternoon after a day of approximately 12 hours back to our tents, to rest as we deserve. (If we feel strong that day, we may return to the city of Mendoza.)

  4. 4Day 4: Camp – Mendoza

Early and full of joy after enjoying 3 incredible days, we break camp and head back to the vehicle to return to the city and share the great experience we lived. This fourth day is also planned in case we need 1 extra day to acclimatize or because of bad weather.
